Service
From our new service facility, Freightliner
of Des Moines now has expanded capabilities to perform repair and
maintenance work for our customers. We can service and inspect trailers,
trucks, tractors, motor homes, school buses, vans, and fire trucks. Our
technicians are continually updating their education and remain among
the best trained in the industry. Freightliner of Des Moines prides
itself on making sure the job is done right, and we stand behind all of
our work.
New Dyno
Freightliner of Des Moines has installed a
new, multifeatured, state-of-the-art dyno in our facility. Manufactured
by Powertest, a leader in engine dynos, the new chassis unit has
improved on the most desirable features of a dynamometer and engineered
new ideas into this chassis unit to produce a powerful new tool to
diagnose truck and tractor problems. Rated at 1100 H.P., 17,000 LB FT
torque capacity, and 120 MPH, this machine and its computerized data
output gives Freightliner of Des Moines the flexibility to make and test
repairs correctly.
Vehicle Inspection System -
VIS Check
The new VIS Check can quickly determine the safety and effeciency of
brakes, axles,steering, and suspension systems. Tests performed include
maximum brake force and deceleration, maximum system pressure and pedal
force, wheel drag, and brake balance, with computerized results analyzed
for abnormal variances. Our service team will be able to help customers
lower overall costs through early inspection and detection of problems.
Lube Bays
Our new service facility has two drive-thru
lube bays for quick service and inspections. In the tractor shop, the
bay is 96 feet long, capable of handling three tractors or a tractor and
trailer. The second bay is 60 feet long and located in the motor home
and truck shop. Mobil Delvac is the oil of our choice; Shell Rotella
also is available.
Parts
Freightliner of Des Moines maintains a large
inventory of Freightliner and vendor parts. Chances are we have it in
stock, but if needed, we can usually have any part delivered overnight.
We also stock and endorse the quality and value-priced rebuilt products
from Alliance, a subsidiary of Freightliner Corp.
